BIOGRAPHY

Steve Wolfson has made Las Vegas his home for the past twenty-four years. Like many others, Steve witnessed the dramatic conversion from a rather small city to a booming metropolis.

Steve, his wife Jackie, and their two daughters, have all been a part of our community. Steve has been very active in his profession throughout his career.

Steve was born in Los Angeles, California, May 9, 1954. He attended the Erwin Street Grammar School in Van Nuys, California. Staying in Van Nuys, Steve attended Madison Junior High School and graduated from Grant High School in 1972.

In his primary school years, Steve was a Cub Scout. By junior high, sports was his biggest attraction. He played in Little League for four years and three more years in Senior League.

In high school, Steve lettered in both basketball and baseball.

Steve then entered San Diego State University, and graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice.

Following graduation, Steve began his law studies at the California Western School of Law. He graduated in 1980 with a Juris Doctorate.

After moving to Las Vegas and beginning his law practice, Steve met a young Channel 13 news reporter and weekend anchor named Jackie Glass. The couple married in 1984. They have two daughters, Rachel, age 17, and Rebecca, age 12. In 2002 Jackie was elected as a District Court judge.

Steve began his legal career as a prosecutor in the criminal division of the Clark County District Attorney's Office. After 7 years there, Steve joined the United State Attorney's Office as a prosecutor.

In 1987, Steve entered private practice where he continues today.

During his career, Steve has always been active in his profession. He presently serves on the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Nevada and on the Judicial Ethics and Campaign Election Practices Committee.

Steve chaired the Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board for the State Board of Nevada and served as a member of the board for seven years prior to that.

Additionally, he is an Inquest Hearing Officer for the Coroner's Office, has served as Justice of the Peace, Pro Tempore, in both Las Vegas and North Las Vegas. He also served as Municipal Court Judge, Pro Tempore, for the City of Las Vegas.

Steve is a member of the Latin Chamber of Commerce, the Asian Chamber of Commerce and was a Board Member for UNLV Boxing.

Steve's mother passed away this year. His father Lou is 88, and he has two older sisters Bev and Carol. Steve lists his interests as: family, golf, travel and movies.
